Find Personal Growth at Plano Martial Arts

Martial Arts is a well-loved and well-respected sport and form of self-defense. At Plano Martial Arts, it is also a means to attain personal growth, right from the very first class.

The long-standing school, owned and operated by International Hall of Famer Master Craig Hamann, has over 25 years of teaching experience under its belt. Since its founding in 1991, Plano Martial Arts has certified more than 400 black belts, and many of them return to the school to help train new students alongside Master Hamann. Experience is the best teacher, after all; hence, all finishers are highly encouraged to assist in teaching and share what they have learned along the way.

Plano Martial Arts approach Martial Arts instruction and fitness training with a can-do attitude, with all students encouraged to try and try until they succeed. Their philosophy is “Do the best you can in everything you do,” creating a low-pressure and encouraging learning environment that’s crucial to self-improvement and growth.

Master Hamann, a multi-degree black belt holder, is no stranger to perseverance and hard work. The World Head of Family Sokeship Council, an organization in Southeast Asia that is recognized among the global martial arts community, inducted Master Hamann into their International Hall of Fame in September 2001. Four years later, he was inducted into as Master of the Year into the first Hall of Fame of Budo International Magazine, published in over 50 countries, in seven different languages. Not stopping there, he want to receive Hall of Fame honors from Action Martial Arts Magazine (2006, Excellence in Teaching the Martial Arts) and from the USA Martial Arts Hall of Fame (2014 and 2017, Multi-Discipline Master of the Year). He was most recently honored and promoted to rank of Judan (10th degree) by the Sodai George -Brock of the Aibu-Jutsu Rye Federation, along with being awarded Grandmaster and Soke titles. These honors have earned Master Hamann the titles of Master Instructor (“Shihan”) and Instructor (“Sensei”).
